Section 29
<br> to give an opportunity to contest claims on the closed list of candidates
The Commission shall scrutinize and publish the closed list of candidates received as per Section 28.
(2) When publishing the closed list of candidates in accordance with sub-section (1), the commission shall also publish a notice of the proceedings in which the claim can be contested within seven days regarding the qualification of any candidate whose name is included in such list is not in accordance with the constitution or this act.
(3) The Commission may publish and broadcast the closed list published in accordance with sub-section (1) through the media as required.
(4) Any voter whose name is included in the closed list of candidates published in accordance with sub-section (1) may submit a petition to the Commission with evidence and opposition within the time specified in the notice as per sub-section (3) of section 7, stating that any candidate whose name is included in the closed list of candidates is not qualified according to the constitution or this act.
(5) If a claim opposition petition is received in accordance with sub-section (4), the Commission shall carry out the necessary investigation in that regard and if it appears from the investigation that the person whose name is included in the closed list does not meet the qualifications according to the Constitution or this Act, the Commission shall take the same action and remove the name of such candidate from such list.
(6) The Commission shall publish the final closed list of candidates after the completion of the work according to that sub-section in relation to the opposition to the claim made according to sub-section (5) and if there is no opposition to the claim, after the expiry of the deadline for opposing the claim.
(7) The closed list published in accordance with sub-section (6) shall be verified by the Commission and sent to the concerned parties.
(2) When publishing the closed list of candidates in accordance with sub-section (1), the commission shall also publish a notice of the proceedings in which the claim can be contested within seven days regarding the qualification of any candidate whose name is included in such list is not in accordance with the constitution or this act.
(3) The Commission may publish and broadcast the closed list published in accordance with sub-section (1) through the media as required.
(4) Any voter whose name is included in the closed list of candidates published in accordance with sub-section (1) may submit a petition to the Commission with evidence and opposition within the time specified in the notice as per sub-section (3) of section 7, stating that any candidate whose name is included in the closed list of candidates is not qualified according to the constitution or this act.
(5) If a claim opposition petition is received in accordance with sub-section (4), the Commission shall carry out the necessary investigation in that regard and if it appears from the investigation that the person whose name is included in the closed list does not meet the qualifications according to the Constitution or this Act, the Commission shall take the same action and remove the name of such candidate from such list.
(6) The Commission shall publish the final closed list of candidates after the completion of the work according to that sub-section in relation to the opposition to the claim made according to sub-section (5) and if there is no opposition to the claim, after the expiry of the deadline for opposing the claim.
(7) The closed list published in accordance with sub-section (6) shall be verified by the Commission and sent to the concerned parties.
